Started in 2012, every year International physicians, dentists, nurses, health workers and volunteers can participate in our medical & dental treks. You do not need to be a healthcare worker to participate! Non-medical volunteers are also needed toaccompany treks as they make valuable contributions assisting in numerous capacities. All who seek a rewarding experience providing vital healthcare to remote areas are welcome and encouraged to come.

Med trek is a unique way to take in the beauty of Nepal, participate in the daily life of Nepalese, immerse oneself inindigenous culture, and help people who otherwise go without healthcare. Starting from Kathmandu, we trek on the Nepal trails and these treks usually take about two weeks. During this period, the health camp lasting for 3 days, establishedin the village of Lisankhu, situated in the district of Sidhupalchowk, which was very badly damaged by the recent 2015 earthquake. Over the course of these three days, with help from KTF staff and local volunteers, we will treat not only the residents of the village, but also from the surrounding communities. It is not uncommon for people to travel by foot for several days in order to be treated at our health camp.

From time to time, in collaboration with Karma Thalo Foundation, weorganize special treks focusing on particular medical needs. This primarily includes dental and ophthalmology treatment, but specialists in other areas are welcome!
